Makayla's Preschool class had Fire Safety week this past week. With hearing from the Chief himself, I urge everyone to 1) Have smoke dectors in your house preferably by the bedroom. 2) Have a fire escape plan. 3) Use common sense. (Don't leave a candle burning unattended.) You might think this is extremely elementary...but I just met someone this week who his whole family died in a house fire. He had a wife and two sons. My heart truly goes out to him, so, I am asking everyone to use some precautions and some common sense.
Everyone was so excited about this day. Mrs. Floyd did a great job preparing the kids for today. I was in the other room this week and I overheard Makayla talking to Jackster. She told him if he ever caught on fire he needed to STOP, DROP, and ROLL.
It was freezing out and the Firemen were thinking it was too cold to take the kids up to the top of the truck. They were telling this to Mrs. Floyd and she wasn't have any of it. She told this big, burly men that these kids were going to be fine. =)
From the look on their faces I think they made it all right.
