My Hero

There has been a range of emotions around here lately. We just got back from seeing our friends Grace and Greg this week in PA. We had a great time with them and I will be getting a blog up soon about our time there. But for now I wanted to tell everyone about my hero. I was on my way to IA for the holiday weekend and decided to make a pit stop at my parent's house. I called mom to let her know I was on my way and she told me that my Grandma had just passed away. When I got to mom's I tried to make myself useful and ended up putting Jackster in the kennel that they have at their house. As time went by that day my dad let Jackster out to run. He ended up getting shock by the electric fence and took off running. By the time I heard his first yelps I was out the door looking for him. When Dad seen that I didn't have him he started looking, too. We couldn't find him anywhere! We went on a two hour search for him that night without ever seeing any signs of him. We got up the next morning and continued to search for him to no avail. It rained all the next night and was winding and cold. This morning I woke up with all hope lost of ever seeing our little puppy ever again. I was crying in the back bedroom and thinking of what I would say to Makayla and Josh.....WHEN....all of a sudden Dad enter the room with Jackster in his arms. I couldn't believe my eyes. I was crying again, but this time it was tears of JOY. Dad found him sitting at an old barn two miles from the house. I can't believe the range of emotions I have had today. I was so proud of my Dad for not giving up on Jackster and looking this one last time for him. DAD--YOU ARE MY HERO!
